Cookie policy
Effective from 10 August 2026
1. What are cookies and similar technologies?
Cookies are small text files stored by the browser. Hjerterum also uses local browser storage and a service worker where necessary for login, security, selected features and installation as a PWA.
Necessary technologies are active because the service cannot work securely without them. Optional statistics and marketing technologies are only activated after your choice.
2. Necessary cookies and local storage
Necessary cookies keep you logged in, protect forms against misuse and remember security and session choices. Local storage may remember language, display preferences, cookie choices and a limited offline copy for the PWA.
When logged in, the PWA may keep visible tasks and habit plans for the current and following week on the device. Notes and passwords are not included in the normal read-only copy. An action created offline may remain in a local outbox until it has synchronised. Local PWA data can be removed by logging out, using the offline settings or clearing the browser’s site data.
3. Hjerterum’s own usage statistics
If you accept statistics, the logged-in PWA can send anonymous and aggregated usage measurements to Hjerterum’s own server. These may include active time, foreground time, broad feature area, PWA or browser use and general technical events such as offline use or a failed synchronisation.
We do not include names, emails, family IDs, task text, notes, messages or other content. Child usage is only measured after separate activation by a parent. Short session measurements are deleted after no more than 30 days and technical account keys after no more than 95 days. Aggregated daily, monthly and annual totals may be retained to follow product development over time.
Google Analytics – statistics on public pages
If you accept statistics cookies, Google Analytics 4 measures visits to Hjerterum’s public website. It can process visited pages, traffic source, time, browser and device type, approximate geographic area and random cookie identifiers.
Google Analytics is not loaded inside the logged-in PWA, and Hjerterum does not send user IDs, family data, tasks, notes or other app content to Google. Google Signals and personalised advertising are disabled. Retention follows the settings selected in the Analytics account.
4. Your choice
You can allow all optional technologies, reject them or choose categories in Cookie settings. Necessary cookies cannot be disabled. Withdrawing consent does not affect processing that was lawful before withdrawal.
You can reopen Cookie settings from the footer of the public website. You can also delete cookies and local storage in your browser, but this may log you out and remove offline data and preferences.
5. Retention
Session cookies normally expire when the browser session ends. Security and preference cookies may remain longer where needed for the stated purpose. Specific optional retention periods are described in the relevant sections above and in the privacy policy.
6. Contact
Questions about cookies and personal data can be sent to the company contact shown at the top of this page. Read the privacy policy for more information about purposes, legal bases, processors, international transfers and your rights.
